The prophecy

Here is the Prophecy. According to this one, when the song Like a dead kangaroo has become a worldwide hit, aliens will be seen on Earth. Indeed, that’s written in the novel The Beyond-Light Pioneers (Les pionniers de l’Outre-Lumière).

What’s the story ? An alien ship crashes on Earth. The last survivor, wanting to go home, condescends to help humans: these primitive creatures will have access to beyond-light travel in exchange for a return ticket to their improvised guide. The elite of the nations embarks to discover infinite space, hoping to return one day…

Lyrics

Like a dead kangaroo
On the great road of life
I’ve always driv’n away
Keeping my own knife
Between my teeth. Oh yeah !

I’d never looked back
‘Till I found, on my way,
A drug worse than crack
Her doomed smile. Oh yeah! Oh yeah! Oh yeaaaaaaaaah!

Now she’s gone away
I’m like a dead kangaroo
On the road shoulder
[x2]

Then she tore through my life
Drove me out of my way
Cut my heart like a knife
With farewells. Oh No!
Now she’s gone ! Now she’s gone ! Now she’s gone !

Now she’s gone away
I’m like a dead kangaroo
On the road shoulder
[x2]

It wasn’t just her smile
But breasts and doomed charm
Are too dangerous while
I’m in love. Oh yeah!
I’m in love! I’m in love! But she’s gone!

Now she’s gone away
I’m like a dead kangaroo
On the road shoulder
[x4]

When she’s on the highway
She doesn’t care about
The men crossing her route
Not men like me. Oh yeah! Oh yeah! Oh yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Hey ! Hey ! Hey ! Hey !

Now she’s gone away
I’m like a dead kangaroo
On the road shoulder
[x2]
